Re: [Harp-L] Live performance

The live performances that seem to be reaching large groups of older people these days are the 60's rock cover shows. I used to consider this type of live music "beneath me" when called for gigs of this type. However, my whole attitude changed after doing sound for a summer free concert series in St. Augustine Beach every Wed night in the outdoor pavilion on the beach last year. Bands doing old rock tunes made everyone very happy and filled the dance floor. My favorite band is called "The Falling Bones" specializing in old Rolling Stones music. The musicians in this band specialize in recreating the sound and arrangements of these wonderful oldies. Rick Levy is the leader. He also books some of those revival shows and was musical director for Herman's Hermits. His love of this era really shines through when he plays out.
