[Harp-L] Drinking

I have 38 years playing harp on stage. About half as a heavy drinker.
As stated by others, my playing is much better without drinking and I can afford more and better equipment now.
However, some of the greats that I grew up listening to and learning from had terrible drinking problems
and played and recorded some of the best music of all time including what are now considered classics.
When you think about what it cost them in health, friendships and band relationships through the years
you might look at it as paying your dues.
As a learning process it is like going to college and I hope most of you graduate to sobriety before
it is to late and the results are irreversible. Booze can kill you slowly and painfully along with your music!
You do not need to drink to play better!
I wish you all the best.
