Thank You so much Steve and Brian....I'm glad you liked this Video.
My band the Hudson River Rats has always been about 'the groove' not just a
bunch of individuals fighting for the spotlight. I've been lucky to find
guys that really get the concept of contributing to the "whole". It's so
important to really listen to your bandmates and play with dynamics.
Bernard Purdie is not only my best friend for the past 22 yrs but my mentor,
his drumming and musicianship have made me a better player, singer and
frontman and recording artist. I owe him a lot and always honored to share a
stage with him. Whether we are playing a concert a wedding or a sweet 16
party (he played at my daughters 9 yrs ago) he GIVES 159%,-) he is a real
pro and has a heart of gold. For those of you unfamilar with his credits

Bernard will turn 71 this June and is still going strong...he plays 8 shows
a week on Broadway in NYC in the new production of the tony winning return
of HAIR! He played in the original workshops of this show in the late 60's!
His work with Aretha, Quincy & Steely Dan and thousands of others are
proof...today I was listening to a record he did with Louie Armstrong in
1970 a yr before Armstrong died. It's a FUN record done in NYC with Miles,
Louie and even Pharaoh Sanders! I hope I have one 10th of Bernard's energy
at his age...he is a true force of nature.
