"BLUES FOUNDATION AWARDS VOTING CLOSES MARCH 1! STILL TIME TO VOTE FOR
YOUR
FAVORITE DVD OR COUNTRY BLUES ARTIST OF THE YEAR (HINT, HINT)"
....Thanks for the reminder. I've just gone back in to update my vote.
The Blues Foundation has announced highly-esteemed blues singer and harpist
Charlie Musselwhite as a 2010 inductee to the Hall of Fame. More info at:
_www.blues.org_ (http://www.blues.org)
The foundation also announced a 10-day auction of a framed autographed
copy of Love Stinks, the 1980 release by the J. Geils Band. The wooden frame
features two-sided glass so both front and back of the LP cover are viewable.
It has been signed by band members J. Geils, Peter Wolf, Magic Dick, Danny
Klein and Seth Justman. All proceeds benefit the Blues Foundation.
(Incidentally, there are some fabulous photos taken on the Legendary Rhythm
and Blues Cruise of Jason Ricci, Billy Gibson and Magic Dick together -
worthy of framing).
For that matter, Jason Ricci is also nominated yet again for BMA Harmonica
Player of the year. As well, Jason Ricci & New Blood's latest CD: 'Done
with the Devil' is nominated for Album of the year under the Blues/Rock
category.
So yeah - it would be very nice for those who are members of the Blues
Foundation to remember to vote for your favourite player/performers ...Tommy
Castro has been nominated in 4 categories ....and others many of you here
profess to care about. You don't have to spend a lot of money joining the
Blues Foundation - a nominal sum gives you a voice in the voting, chances to
win CD's of your favourites, and tons of great information over the course of
a year.
Some of you may know Jason Ricci and New Blood just came off their first
Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise to great acclaim. They were a smashing
success based on the comments I'm getting from people on facebook and in
private emails. Lots of videos of the band taken during the cruise and their
recent European tour.
The very best videos of Jason and New Blood were done in Germany, though.
The visual and sound quality are as close as many will get to attending a
Live Show. They'll be a real treat for his true fans here:
'Holler for Craig Lawler': (rarely do viewers other than those of us who
attend the live shows get to see and hear Todd Edmunds at his best on an
extended bass solo):

there are a lot more - they're in the right hand column once you view
these.
Enjoy!
