Re: [Harp-L] 2 draw beginner question

I honestly do not understand curve that well, by offset, do you mean
gapping? It was a few days ago, I do not remember anything other than
I opened it up, fiddled with the reed and suddenly it worked.

You are asking a machinery idiot.

I have had great luck with gapping for overblows. My method is much
more rudimentary than most overblowers.

I have almost continuously gotten lucky fixing minor harp problems by
opening up the harp, looking at the reed and just guessing which way
to push the reed.

I am studying Sleigh's book and Oysler's video and have even taken
lessons on machinery, but somehow the synapses of true understanding
elude me. I experience fear when trying to work on the harp. I
consider it a great victory when I take a chance to work on a harp.
Not the fixing, the trying. Recently I got serious about cleaning
harps using Jason Ricci's Mongoose Free method. I have successfully
cleaned ten harps. Next I will conquer tuning. Then the world.
