I asked Hohner harmonica product management in the factory about this
and can tell you the following in regard to Hohner harmonicas:
No diatonic models have nickel plated covers any more, they've all
been stainless steel for the past several years. The only nickel
plating on a Hohner diatonic is on the Meisterklasse reed plates.
Meisterklasse covers are chrome plated.
Some chromatic models have a nickel plated mouthpiece and slide
assembly and some have nickel plated reed plates, which however don't
come into contact with the skin. The following chromatics are all
definitely nickel-free in terms of skin contact:
Super Chromonica Deluxe, CX-12, Toots Hard Bopper & Mellowtone,
Meisterklasse, Super 64, Super 64X, Amadeus, Silver Concerto
