The closest I've come to a guitarist unplugging me was a guitarist in
my set that almost cried to play through the harp players Deluxe Reverb.
Our blues society was buying new amps for the jam and picked 2 for the
guitarists and 1 for harp players. Since I play a DR and had a band
mate that was looking to
sell his I talked the club into buying it for harpers.
The amp he was given was a custom built guitar amp. He didn't want to
use it and argued with me for the reissue DR. I told him I personally
chose this amp for the harp players and that he had to use the custom.
After about 2 minutes of hearing him whine I let him have the DR and I
took the spare vocal mic rather then use the custom. About the 2nd or
3rd song in he wanted to sing harmony on a song.
He looked to the mic on our side of the stage and realized I was using
it for harp. I looked at him and shook my head and said, "no
freaking way are you getting this mic" and laughed at him.
Never saw him at the jam again.
