[Harp-L] Tax Time Sale
Just letting everyone know that I am running a tax time sale, lowering the
price of the Cruncher SEVENTY dollars to $1425.00, cover and shipping
extra. No extra charge for 240 power transformer setup plus a wall socket plug
adapter to connect to the USA plugs we use. I have always built in runs of
production and do what is necessary to continuously service customers within
one week of ordering.
New News !!! Mark Hummel has stated how much he enjoys his Cruncher so
much he challenged me to build a Super Cruncher, letting me know what he
wants in the amp. Mark is very particular with his sound as he does not rely on
soundmen and for very large gigs will link the Cruncher to right now the
Super Sonny. He wants something that will fill a large room without being
mic'd; so great projection, which at 45 watts will bark when needed but is
full of bottom end, using a totally unique speaker configuration that will
have you if nothing else, curious and saying, I bet that must sound excellent.
This is as far away from 4 x 10 as one can go, it is humbling to have
several long standing supporters who will buy it on word alone. I will be using
a NOS 5751 as first preamp, a tube I have grown to think has great
potential for harp amps. All NOS tubes will be tested with a tester, deoxidized,
and placed in an amp to insure no noises or microphonics. No extra tubes
needed, with the patch cable there are enough options.. I am within 2 weeks of
the final exact speaker lineup, however I know what I just ordered will
work with the rest. Due to the nature of the speakers how efficient two of
them are, with 30 oz. magnets, it is extremely friendly to acquire room
filling volume before feedback. I will be making up a FAQ's, as I know what
questions I will be asked most and will do my best to honestly answer them.. I
fully understand I just to finished with one production model, but even
with as many strong positive reviews, I had the inspiration to swing full
circle yet stay on familiar ground with the Cruncher..
I have seen the prices of most of the other large amp products,
and they all are very near $2000 or pushing over $2200 now. What is a nice
feature like the Cruncher, is the weight, I should be able to bring it to you
at 50 pounds; depending on this last speaker.. I have seen most past 55
pounds up to 61 pounds, Mark is still a road warrior and wanted it kept in
this lower range. Thank those that have continued to give me the support to
push the envelope; this is one that breaks the envelope. Watch the site for
news updates.
*** I committed to practicing a minimum of 2 hours a day, and find it
easier to break down the Sonny Terry style so my goal of seminars I am hoping
will become reality. Once we get the new site up there will be a newsletter
that will give information. I just acquired a 1956 Danelecto Commando and
will be comparing the so called Little Walter amp to each of mine when
serviced by Cotton Amps. I had to drop the 12AX7's down, I don't know how Walter
tamed this amp. Superb shape. Sears Silvertone model. I have owned 8
others, all JDR's , Montgomery Ward's.. Enough. Thank you for your time..
Sincerely, Sonny Jr.
