Don't forget that the Route 66 Harmonica Club will meet tonight, Feb. 1,
2010 at 6:30 PM at the Western Country Diner, 1905 South Sheridan, Tulsa,
OK. There will be a substantial business meeting over dinner/coffee to
finalize the details of the Adam Gussow clinic. The business meeting will
be followed by a short presentation by Gary Eldridge concerning harmonica
construction/manufacturing issues and problems, specifically information he
has gathered while trying to give birth to an Oklahoma manufactured
harmonica. Despite its technical nature, this will be an interesting
presentation and will include tips that may help you improve the performance
of your existing harps such as heat treatment of reed plates and fitting
simple gaskets to combs. Gary works daily with machine shops and precision
manufacturers and has gathered some fascinating insights. This presentation
will be followed by a busker style, down and dirty, harp only, jam. There
will be no accompaniment or PA so bring your street rig and be prepared to
blow on your own.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Bill Kumpe
President
