[Harp-L] gapping for a half-valved diatonic

So, I understand that (on Holes 1-6) you gap the blow reeds comparatively wide
for better valved bends But, doesn't this make for a double whammy on the draw
reeds? The valves make the blow reeds louder and more responsive while their
wide gaps allow more air to escape when Drawing thus making the Draw reeds quiet
and unresponsive? Is there an imbalance between Blow and Draw plates?
