I bought an old vintage bass from Dick Gardner years ago with Ivory mouth pieces and yes it plays well but plays differently. A more mellow , warm tone, weaker responce, maybe due to the age of the harp, and will take more air to get volumn. Compared to a newer one that's tighter, playes easier, but a brighter tone. Both the Hohner and Suzuki.
