I wasn't at SPAH this year... But I've listened to the clips... I couldn't  
tell any significant difference with the "one note" sounds...
And the individual harp players? Simply differed as EVERY tune differs when 
 played repeatedly, by the same musician.
I would say... NO DIFFERENCE in the sounds, with different comb  
materials...
But "Your mileage might vary!"
However, I believe Vern Smith has been proved... yet again... to be 100%  
right.
Comb material makes no measurable difference to the music as heard by  the 
audience.
