Jon is to the harmonica what Mr. Appleseed is to the apple. I attended one of his early jam camps (in Austin) many years ago and Jon's infectious approach to convincing beginners to focus on the joy that the instrument brings you and not the fear of performing in front of people was the key that unlocked almost a decade of performing, recording and loving this instrument for me. Since that jam camp, I have played more than 600 gigs, recorded on 6 CDs, toured up and down the west coast and had the absolute time of my life.
No amount of thanks can repay Jon for what he helped me achieve with harmonica. I tell everyone about Jon's books, but it's really the Jam Camp that did it for me. Those of you who have spent time with Jon in person know exactly what I mean.
