RE: [Harp-L] "Mojo" on an instrument

My "blackhat" is my mojo and the only time I don't where it while playing is
in church. I never allow anyone to where it or try it on. Many, many
beautiful women have asked to try it on, take a photo wearing it, or wanted
it as a gift. I always refuse. I wear a Diamond Crown Porkpie and I was
getting so many inquires about where to buy one, I finally started selling
them at my gigs. Typically, a fella will buy one for himself and shortly
thereafter his lady has claimed it as her own. Makes for an easy upsale.
Over time they do get beat up so when a blackhat finally looses its shape
and looks, I retire it by giving it to one of my children. However In one
case, I did put one up for auction at a fundraiser for the seriously injured
son of a local musician. Three women got into a bidding war over it which
was quite enjoyable to behold.

Subject: [Harp-L] "Mojo" on an instrument

Does anybody else believe that there can be "mojo" on instruments,
particularly used instruments? Do you know of any players who carry a
"mojo" or a "juju" in their harp case, guitar case, etc? Just curious.
