[Harp-L] Valuation Question

Hello guys,

Jp Pagán of Harmonica Happenings <http://harmonicahappenings.com/> was kind
enough to direct me to this mailing list.

Recently we found a couple of M.Hohner Chromaticas which belonged to my
grandfather.

One is a Hohner No. 265

The other a No. 261 (I count 35 mouth piece holes).

I wondered if you would happen to know how much these are worth now. I found
an ebay listing<http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/M-Hohner-Chromatica-Double-Harmonica-No-265-Rare-Look_W0QQitemZ390125213539QQcategoryZ119095QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D2%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6502422567889166803>for
the No. 265 for around $2000. I wondered if this is accurate.

I researched it a little bit and from what I understand, both are from
around 1937 because the 6 pointed star is still in the middle. Also, they
have the wooden/marbled effect. Apparently these are signs to help age it
approximately.

Any advice you could give me would be very much appreciated. I have attached
the No 265 here for the moment as I havent taken photos of the No. 261 yet.

kind regards,

Andre
