My thinking is , just try and bottom that sucker out. Try it in 3rd position ( if you can) and hopefully you'll hear that flat 5 note when your doing it. Kind of like visualizing something you want to acheive, only audioly (is that a word?)

I love the piece. What key is it in? How does one learn to play it in order to practice these elusive bends? I still can't get the 3rd step down on 3.

His material is geared to strengthening your bends, among many other techniques. I have been a huge fan and student of Dave Barretts teaching from the beginning. His insights and advice have been priceless in my pursuit of gaining control ( me playing the harmonica, instead of it playing me) over this very deceptive instrument we here all love.
