Re: [Harp-L] Parker's Mood
Michael,
You can disagree if you choose to. However, take into consideration that you head when it
turns, it turns in a circular motion. The harmonica is a flat straight surface. When you move
your head more than you do the harmonica the embouchure changes. It loses some of its
occlusive seal. I learned from one of the best chromatic players in the world, Eddie Gordon.
And Eddie taught me that the less you move your head the better regardless of the
harmonica.. Because the tighter and more stationary you can maintain your embouchure the
better your seal, tone and breathing will be. An embouchure works best when it is stationary
regardless of the mouth instrument. I am a band teacher and play 6 other instruments
besides the harmonica and every embouchure is better when it is stationary, including the
harmonica.
all the best,
