Re: [Harp-L] comparing hohners: deluxe vs bopper

Both the 270 Deluxe and the Toots Hard Bopper have the thicker 1.2 mm reedplates and long slot reeds. (The current version of the Toots Mellow Tone has the same 1.05mm plates and short slot reeds as a regular 270). Mellow Tone and Hard Bopper reedplates, instead of being uncoated brass, are plated with chrome, which looks nice but makes it harder to get valves to stay glued on.

The main differences are the round holes  and screwed-together construction of the 270 Deluxe, both of which are pluses as far as I'm concerned.

Does anyone have experience with both the Hohner 270 deluxe and the Toots Hard Bopper (or Mellow Tone) that could provide direct impressions and comparisons?
My shopping obsession is coming to an end soon... I promise!
Thanks.
