Much good advice for tightening up a "loose" chromatic from Winslow,
Elizabeth and Smokey Joe.
I just think that a discussion on this subject would be incomplete with
out mention of our Dearly Departed Douglas Tate's book, "Make Your
Harmonica Work Better." It's an excellent and very affordable resource
($9.95 on Amazon) for maintaining and markedly improving a chromatic
harmonica from the maker of the famous ILUS "Renaissance" chromatic.
Well illustrated and explained in simple terms, Douglas shows the
techniques he accumulated over many years of maintaining his own and
Larry Adler's concert instruments and building the Renny. Wanna learn
about "Tate Ramps?" This is where he explains that and many other great
methods for improving your instrument. Make your own Renny!
BTW, Douglas' sister paperback, "Play The Harmonica Well" is also a
terrific resource. The pair belong in any serious harmonicist's library,
whether chromatically or diatonically inclined.
