I recently developed what I think is a new, simple way to combine harmonica
chords and percussion: Microphone Tapping with Metal Finger Rings. This way
you can keep your hands cupped but tap the two finger rings together. It
gives a great low bass note with a nice crisp edge, perfect as rhythmic
backing for solo harp playing.
Like many harp players, I've been fooling with loop pedals to create my own
live accompaniment. The 12 bar Blues suits looping (as it is a repeating
form), but it can take a while to input the chords, percussion and bass
parts. Mic Tapping can speed up the process. I've done a video to
