[Harp-L] Australian wants Memphis information to attend Gussows Harmonica Homecoming

After a really busy series of gigs and other domestic complications ; I've finally sat down to try and continue to research, organise and book [on computer] flights to and from Memphis to get down to Adam Gussows Hill Country Harmonica Homecoming event in Holly Springs. Sincere thanks to those folk who sent me some travel tips in Austin TX [ I hope I can make it there].Quite frankly however [for this old 'not so techno' blues perp] it's daunting trying to book into a strange city, so at present my accommodation and transportation has not been organised. If anyone can offer any ideas on budget van rental or accommodation on arrival in Memphis I'd be very grateful. Also, I'd be relieved if anyone can offer me the hospitality of a couple of nights accommodation on arrival? I am very willing to pay for a camp bed or anything. It would be great to meet a harmonica friendly person who knows the region and to feel safely in the hands of a good hearted fellow musician or blues enthusiast. My intentions are to visit Ground Zero on the Thurs. in Clarkesdale, Oxford for the Jam and rent a van to drive around the historical blues towns of the Mississippi for a stay of three weeks in the U.S.A. Obviously my home here in Pacific east coast of Australia is usually available for ' a pallet ' for goodly harpl' members and international internet friends. So thankyou again for 'any helpful information' re:budget accomodation or car, van rental, travel tips etc.Sincerely Billy James www.myspace.com/thedeltaampsbluesband
