Re: [Harp-L] slide mechanism broken
Well the most sensible thing would seem to be to return it to Hohner
for repair. As it shouldn't break after 3 months.
However it's always advisable to learn to replace it yourself as well,
so you can facilitate repairs in the future when necessary.
You can use a large nappy (diaper) pin to replace the broken pin (if
that's the problem).
You could also fit an external slide. See ElkRiverHarmonicas on
YouTube or how to do that.
If it's the head (button) of the slide then you could fit a new one on
to it by using some wood / plastic / metal and some strong glue /
resin. Alternatively you could get someone to re-weld it on if you
still have the part.
These are just a few ideas. I'm sure that there are many more ways to
repair a chromatic.
Hopefully one of the chromatic guys / gals will see the thread and be
able to give you further options.
