Re: [Harp-L] Re: I don't see that Suzuki or Seydel have much retaildistribution at all in the US.

Brothers & Sisters of Harmonica,

Hohner has had the market for many years. With a 'down-turned' economy it's a matter of reducung or eliminating product lines to stay afloat much-less competitive. That new product line can cost a couple thousand dollars PLUS inventory and how do you prepare for an unknown market?

Mom & Pop ops are drying up. Big companies get job cuts and go on "back-order" for the simplest things. This is NOT the fault of the musician!

Some shops may go to Suzuki to save customers and reduce costs. They may HAVE TO! One vendor says "It's all a matter of watching your P's and Q's". Watching the pennies and quarters. And I'll buy Suzuki...a LOT of Suzuki. And I'll buy it local or far away but I'll buy it.

Don't be afraid to order out for your harps. Avoid those with a bad reputation and give your business to those whom are highly recommended.

Get hold of C2C or Rupert or Elk River or any of the others. You'll get your harps. In the meantime...Practice!

Be Blues...And Jazz,

Suave Blues Man

Even without bricks-and-mortar or major music outlet distribution, these harmonica brands are sold by online harmonica specialists, who do offer competitive prices. Coast 2coast, harmonicasandstuff for starters.

Guitar Center had a small selection of Seydel 10-holers last time I was
there.

That's certainly a step in the right direction.
