[Harp-L] Impaling myself with a Golden Melody nail

Actually I guess it was the male end of the screw. I was doing a show in some fancy joint in Manhattan when I realized something sharp was in my mouth. I once had a fixed bridge crack in half mid solo so my tongue searched around to make sure everything was intact after which I pulled out the screw/nail that holds one side of the plates on from my mouth and just went on. We had an extra guitarist (a NY blues staple: Big Ed Sullivan) tonight which led me to play (as I too often do) extra hard. Now I've heard of a reed disengaging which makes physical sense but this! I guess I can get rid of my vacuum cleaner. My best.d p.s. I have no idea what happened to the female end of the plate screw.
