[Harp-L] Re: Wil Scarlett

I don't have perfect pitch. I listened to the Wil Scarlett tracks. Some of them were enjoyable, others not so much. But I have nothing but admiration for his adventurous experimentation in front of a live and obviously enthusiastic audience. I've listened to some other Fillmore shows from that era that were horribly out of tune. Blodwyn Pig, Traffic, even Jimi Hendrix. Nobody had electronic tuners back then, so I wouldn't necessarily blame Wil Scarlett if the Hot Tuna tracks have tuning issues.

I do have a question for anybody who has listened to these tracks. Do you hear any verifiable overblows? I didn't, even though he's all over the harp in terms of position play. But I didn't have a G harp in hand trying to play along with him when I listened, so I could have missed the overblows.
