Re: [Harp-L] sesame street 40 years old today

Wow! 40...yes it was indeed Toots!! They still record music in NY for the show and Will Galison and myself & maybe even Bonfiglio?have done Harmonica for the show over the years...it's been a Good run and nice that they use a good amount of Harp!

Toots has some COOL Musical Calling Cards:

-Sesame St intro

-Old Spice Whistling Jingle from the 60's

and WHO has not heard this as they rolled their cart up and down the supermarket isle:

-da-da-da-da-da-da.......da----------da-da....
-BLUESETTE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

npr did a story this morning marking the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street.
i'm a little too old to have grown up with it, but it put a big smile on my face
to hear the harmonica based theme song (wikipedia says it was done by
Toots Thielemans). heard that a lot when my kids were growing up.
