I couldn't agree more with Iceman's original suggestion of Dan Hicks Hot 
Licks. Super tight musicianship, too.

At the risk of being too obvious, I'd ad our own Tom Ball (with Kenny 
Sultan). Their songs are often written with tongue in cheek, so in 
addition to some superb harp and guitar work and fine singing, Tom and 
Kenny entertain with a keen sense of humor.

Another harper par excellent who also fits the category of terrific /and 
/funny songwriter is Rick Estrin. Many of his songs are a pure hoot.
