Denny,
Try the MXR Micro Amp. It's a small effects pedal with a mosfet pre-
amp in it that has an adjustable gain control. It's not too hot, so
you can boost gain to get cut and grit without generating feedback.
With this pedal, a harp player can set up relatively clean if desired
and then kick it in for a more distorted or overdriven sound on
demand. Gives you boost without feedback if you dial it in
correctly. Very nice pedal for this application and very harp friendly.
i used to have one a while back. I never used it all that much, but
that's only because i don't go for a distorted sound very often. But
when i did use it, it was great. I knew another harp player who used
one all the time with a Princeton Reverb (I think). He would step on
it for dirt and cut it off for clean(er) tone. It also boosts
volume when it's on and the overdriven tone it generates is warm and
not at all brittle or harsh. Great stompbox for what i think you're
after.

Would appreciate recommendations for a reasonably priced amp booster
for a Blues Junior that has
already had the tube selection modified. I borrowed a guitar friend's
Ibanez TX9DX Turbo Tube Screamer
but would prefer something that is favorable with the harp community.
