You know if you stick a whole bunch of little diatonics together, you get a chord harmonica. It's fun to switch from playing lead with an acoustic guitar player, and to pick up a chord harmonica and reverse roles. I do it once a week. Try it. There are lots of used chords around now (how many trios do you see ?). Those chords need to find new homes. Playing a chord harmonica allows you to be a part of a backup band or actually be the backup band when you can play like Wally Peterman. Playing a song like "Summertime" on the chord can add another whole level to your harmonica experience. There are also other options such as Hohner's "Vineta" (3 keys) and the little used and seen "Rhythm & Blues" six chord harmonica (2 versions). They are fun to play and add variety. Just think of these harmonicas as big diatonics. Gotta love 'em all.
