I'm thinking beyond the usual suspects found in the 1-4-5 Chicago-style
blues "box".
I play several Leadbelly tunes like Goodnight Irene and Midnight Special in
first position (there are many more). Other more traditional folk/blues
tunes like Frankie and Johnie lay out nicely in 1st. A number of old
Mississippi John Hurt-type tunes also work out well.
Take a listen to the amazing "Harmonica Blues" and "Harmonica Masters" CD's
on Yahoo records for many other fine examples by classic old-style players.
Like I say, they just aren't 1-4-5'ers.
