I haven't used the effect live yet.  However, the mix and tone knobs give it a ton of cut and bite.  It can be quite over the top if need be.  Here is the inspiration for the effect: http://www.archive.org/download/bt2000-11-11.flac16/bt2000-11-11d3t05_vbr.mp3

Long story short, my band NiteRail is playing out again and I plan on using the effect with that group.  We're pretty good about taping live shows, so I should have some live samples in April.
