Another term for Piedmont Blues on guitar is ragtime guitar. Check out 
anything by Mississippi John Hurt, John Jackson and the other finger style 
guitarists.

For harmonica, check out recordings of   Phil Wiggins with finger style 
master guitarist John Cephas.
