Only trouble I've had with my AFB+ was quickly resolved by replacing the two 9v batteries. One was clearly bad (2.3v) while the other was OK (8.5v), but the best policy is to replace both. Kinder himself was responsive and ready to guide me through more complex procedures if that were necessary.
