Song is in C , I'm playing a Dm Marine Band (Not labeled in cross-harp like
Lee Oscar's). The song is "People Get Ready" and I'm playing the melody
line. Am, C relative major, I've got Am cross harp, but really playing in C.
I've got the relative minor thing going with the same notes as C, but how
does that influence positions? I'm confused.
I do it on another song. The song I play in G, "Blue Moon". I play a Marine
Band Minor in Am, Em cross harp, with the the relative major, G. Again, I
get confused on position. Another song I do is "16 Tons". I play it in Em
and play it on an Am Marine Band. That's second position, I'm confident
about that. On the other two songs I'm playing somewhere else, it seems.
I love minor keyed harps. Melodies just fall out of them. I like Melody
Maker tuning for the same reason. Now, If I just knew what I was doing, I
could probably make more use of these tunings.
