[Harp-L] Portable PA amp?
Jazmaan,
A guitar player friend of mine has an AER acoustic guitar amp. Sold
state w/ some on board effects. 2 channels. One w/a a hi-z !/4" input
and the other w/a lo-z XLR input. Very compact. The lo-z channel is
very functional as a small PA. I've been on jazz gigs w/ him when
he's used it as a PA. He was playing electric into a separate guitar
amp and the AER was used as a PA. Worked very well.
The AER is a high end unit and relatively expensive, but very nice,
very practical and very high quality (you get what you pay for). VERY
light and portable. Btw, although i play through a PA style mic, I
thought harp sounded better into the hi-z channel (using a
transformer, of course), so the XLR channel would be available for a
vocal mic. Clean sound but with a decent tone. Impressive unit.
I think Richard Hunter said Lee Oskar was using one the last time he
saw him play.
