Oddly... My cats don't like it when I play harmonica or electric
(amplified) guitar.
But a friend of mine's cats always come running when we play music together
and often try to position themselves in my lap or on top of the guitar...
Even when I'm playing harp in a neckrack.
Cats probably don't have a preference one way or the other; They just want
you to think you know what their preference is, so they can do the opposite
to confound you.
