Re: [Harp-L] West Coast Jazz Harmonica Summit, Monday, August 10

The website for this event is coming together nicely. Even if you can't attend, you might be interested in checking out the profiles of the various players, including audio samples of everyone, pictures, bios, and links to their various web sites. There is also a new page telling the the story of how this event came about. We have a fantastic backing trio lined up as well as a wide variety harmonica jazz planned -- a great way to start off this week-long harmonica party! If you can somehow work this into your pre-SPAH plans (Santa Cruz is about 2 1/2 hours southwest of Sacramento), rest assured that you won't be disappointed!

A quick update. We now have a lineup and tickets are on sale. The lineup is (alphabetically):

- Pete Blasberg
- Jon Eriksen
- The Jazz Harmonica Ensemble
- Steve Malerbi
- Damien Masterson
- Michael Peloquin
- Michael Polesky
- Slide Man Slim
- Winslow Yerxa

Details are at the following website, including online and phone-in ticket information. The sound stage only seats about 100, so we do expect to sell out. I'll also be posting artist profiles and performance samples on the website over the next few weeks:

Just a quick heads-up for anyone who may be interested in incorporating this into your SPAH travel plans.

Several of us west coast jazz harmonicists will be warming up our chops before SPAH at the West Coast Jazz Harmonica Summit, to be filmed in high definition video before a live studio audience at the Digital Media Factory in Santa Cruz, CA on Monday, August 10. The show will go from 7 - 10:30pm.

The lineup (to be announced very shortly) will feature San Francisco Bay Area's top jazz harmonica players (and at least one LA dude) backed up by an excellent jazz trio. If you are driving to the SPAH Convention, Santa Cruz is about two and a half hours southwest of Sacramento on the scenic Monterey Bay.
