Great advise for sure, but listening to Cotton to learn how not to step on the singer seems curious and is like watching Tiger to learn how not to win tournaments - isn't it really the opposite - absolutely love Cotton of course, but he'd step smack on your head to play a run of warbles, no? How about something more along the lines of Paul Butterfield on Fathers & Sons (or on Muddy's Live Woodstock album) instead?? Now he actually left some air for others to breath when he played the side-man role.
Now for the 'who steps on whom the worst' thread...
