A Yooper is a native of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The name is derived from
the initials (U.P). in contrast from Michigan's Lower Peninsula ( Trolls ).
The mackinaw bridge separates the two.

[That figures, in Scandinavian mythology Trolls live under bridges.]
