Got to meet Harvey Berman, who is the President of the Crescent City Harmonica Club in New Orleans this past weekend! What a nice guys and a terrific player, and playing harp with a four chick band called 30x90, who kicked ass. We were fortunate to have timed our trip while the Blues and Brews fundraiser was happening and ran into some of the best harp players in NO. Next player was Thomas Walker, with the Lil Red &Big Bad whose tone was to die for, and such a nice guy. He also is working with Harvey to build the harp club...There were more players there, but I could go on and on.
I also met Smoky Greenwell who replaced Lee Oskar of WAR. He has a booth set up in the French Market selling harps, cd's, his personal cd's and stuff that harp players need. He invited me to his shows but due to flight schedules, couldn't make them. Did bring some cd's home and Invited him to SPAH.
