And so it goes.  The current discussion is reiterative for some.  The
reason it keeps coming up is it is undecided.  There is division in the
harmonica world about whether comb materials have any influence on the
sound of the harmonica.  That's what this list is for.  To discuss all
things harmonica.  Amazingly we have moved somewhat towards resolution on
this topic.  The progress is slow but it continues.  Newer members may not
have heard the previous discussions it's fair enough for the topic to be
reprised from time to time.

As it turns out much of this current thread is either off topic or meta
discussion.  For instance all of the sigh oh this again comments.  Meta
discussion and they really don't belong on the list.  The defenses against
the protesters of the topic, meta discussion again and these arguments if
they need to be made at all need to be made privately.  The he said she
said portion of the discussion also needs to move off of the list. 
Personally and subjectively I think that the bulk of the objections
concerning this topic centre on the meta etc and not the actual meat of
the discussion.

It doesn't matter anyhow.  Absent some very compelling arguments to
discontinue the topic I am going to continue to allow it.  So to both of
the camps and the innocent bystanders I'm going to ask a favour.  Stick to
the topic.  Forget making a case for or against the topic on harp-l and if
you don't like the discussion please delete the post and move on to
another.

As always if something on harp-l bothers you please do write me regarding
your objections.  I'm always happy to consider all points of view and make
adjustments if they're necessary. Remembering of course that I will get
involved in the nuts and bolts of personal disputes.  Thanks,
