[Harp-L] Darn Hot JJ Milteau Video!



Interesting, Ben, thanks!  I understand FJM's response, too.  I always love JJ's playing, here it seems odd he (and the band) plays this song like a boogie blues, which it ain't, to my ears.  Good music, nice singing, and yet for me it doesn't quite work, after CSNY's version, anyway.  I don't "get" SRV's little wing, either.    

Another thing this raises is (although some of these players may be "Etas Unisians") the unique European take on funk and blues, which I will not get into here, except to toss it onto the table and run like the dickens!

                Late
to the game and reading and replying in arrears.  An intersting clip to
be sure but I think it misses the point of this genre.  Namely the
groove.  Hooker, Canned Heat and even ZZTop are all about the groove
and for me it just wasn't present in this performance.  fjm
