I use an impedance converter, lo-z to hi-z. The Digitech wants to see a hi-Z signal at the input, just like a "real" guitar amp.
I suppose you could get away with using a lo-z input to the Digitech--just crank the gain on the amp models way, way up. I used to use a Labtec AM-22 with the RP200, and that's a lo-z mic. The patches I put together for that mic had a lot more gain on them than the patches I use with the Audix.
But it's better to give the pedal what it wants, and what it wants is a hi-z input.
