If they are plastic, or well sealed wood, I put them in an ultrasonic cleaner w/ a cap full of minty mouthwash 
If you odon't have an ultrasonic, a quick soak in water 7 mouthwash should work. 

If they are unsealed wood, see jason Ricci's youtube on harp cleaning, it is the overall best meathod, mine is jsut a quick fix.
