[Harp-L] New Era of SPAH Conventions

In the early days of SPAH (late 1960's to early 70's) the "convention" was a weekend get together at a high school or a motel and there were 2 a year-one in Mich. and one in the Toronto area, hosted by Can-SPAH.  The harmonica was big in Toronto as well.

I tried to get the convention back to Toronto in 2006 (Denver got it) when Doug Tate was the Prez.  It was all about costs at that time and where the majority of SPAH members were willing to travel to.

SPAH's "Harmonica Happening" magazine provides you with a full membership and club list (including addresses).  You can do the math using it as a base to see where the members are.  Without members there is no large scale convention.

Why not do a survey in the magazine to determine where people are willing to travel to?

Conventions also cost a lot of money to put on-you can only lose money for so long if you don't get the attendees.
