I guess I did not read Angela's Ashes carefully enough first time around.
Not too many people made the migration 'wrong way around'and Frank Mc
Court's biography makes graphically clear why not!
I am reminded of the Duke of Wellington's sniffy response when someone
alluded to his birth in Ireland - to the effect that being born in a stable
does not make one a horse.
Presumably Frank Mc Court avoided any citizenship issues when he returned to
the country of his birth, though there was the little problem of the Korean
draft, which fortunately worked out to his advantage in the end.
