Re: [Harp-L] Seydel Problem

I have a Solist Pro in A. When I first got it I was amazed by how easily it
played and bended straight out of the box. It was my favorite harp for a
while. However, it developed sorry draw 1 & 2 reeds. Badly out of tune
flat and unresponsive. I just figured I would eventually get another
reed-plate for it. I have a very very old Blues Harp from when they first
came out that is still my "go-to" A harp. 40+ years old?? So the Seydel
is in the box sitting in the corner of my gig case. Maybe I was too
forcefull with the Solist Pro. ???

Hey, I spend more money on guitar strings in a month that what that harp
cost. I consider it the cost of doing business. Like changing oil in your
car and getting new ball-joints every 60K miles. Meh.

When I get back from this next weekend road trip, I think I'll contact
Rupert and get a replacement reed-plate. I actually like the wider comb
spacing of the Seydel.

PEACE

First time poster. My Seydel Solist Pro D has a 5 draw that has lowered two
full semitones. Granted, I was practicing overblows and played harder than I
should have, but not hard enough to blow the reed. I took it apart and the
reed appears fine, not arched, spaced well, I'm at a loss. Anyone have
experience in this?
