Not sure if we already announced this here, but it won't hurt to repeat it in case someone missed it:
The Yahoo SFBayharpers Group is being phased out in favor of a new SF Bay Harpers forum at www.ning.com. I have graciously bowed out as moderator and handed the baton to Danny White. Danny, who owns Good Stuff Guitar Shop in Martinez, CA, is now SF Bay Harpers moderator.
We made this change for a number of reasons, the foremost of which are that I was not playing that much harp recently and was overloaded with other musical and personal activities. Secondly, Danny is a much more knowledgeable player and teacher of harp, and he came up with the ning site, which is a vast improvement over the somewhat clunky and non-user-friendly Yahoo Group. I was glad to see the initial Group succeed and am glad to see it continue to thrive with Danny at the helm.
Even those of you who are not and don't wish to sign on as members probably will enjoy looking at the new site. Because it is much more interactive, there are photo, audio and video files posted there that are of interest. These include shots of our quarterly jam sessions -- including Winslow Yerxa, Damien Masterson, Larry Marks and others -- at Armando's in Martinez. Those sessions will continue. Those have been very successful. The next is on Sept, 23, and I hope to be there as a player, or at least as a supportive audience member.
