Re: [Harp-L] Harp mics

Well...I can only second all that Rob and Mike mentioned ..!

I have used my Electro Voice RE10 for some years ..but the SM57 that Greg built for me is a truly great mic.
My RE10 has ( maybe ..) a little bit more bassy sound but the Ultimate SM57 has more "bite" when you need it. Plus the VC is very useful!

So...I'm also a happy customer and a PROUD endorsee.... :-))

Hi Mike,

Let me start by saying I'm a "Blowsmeway" endorsee, I was convinced after purchasing my first inline Volume control adapter that Greg could produce quality work for the PRO player with a variety of needs. When I emailed Greg with my needs and concerns, he truly listened and that's when I signed on!

His Ultimate Mics are top notch, lightweight, ergonomic and durable. I've use 57's most of my life and this MOD was a GODSEND for me and I'm others will agree it gives you the best qualities of a Shure SM57 BUT with all the things a Harp Player needs.

I Still use my Audix Fireball V on sessions and live gigs as well, but when I want more 'bite' in my sound I just pop on the Ultimate 57 and I'm there! My Amp of choice is the Fender Blues Deluxe (1x12 40W).

don't take my word for it...go to his site and check out his products, read the reviews. The buzz is out and for good reason, the price is right and it works and Greg stands behind all his work. It's assuring when a Harp Player comes out with a product for the Harmonica 'cause you know it will continually inmprove and get better as the input from us players in the field rolls in.

all the best,
Rob Paparozzi- a happy customer and now PROUD endorsee!

A month ago or so I went up to visit my pal Rupert Oysler and deliver an amp to him. We checked out his cool collection of mics (mostly modded Turners) and he pulled out a Ultimate 57 that he had gotten from Greg Heumann. I've played through 57s before in an "acoustic harp" kind of environment, but didn't think I dig it too much for playing straight through an amp. Well................I was wrong. I liked it a lot ! I ordered one about 2 weeks later after sending one of my own 57s to him. It's a very cool design with the volume control on the 57. I have found it to be real fat and very feedback resistant especially with a big amp with 40 or more watts. For smaller amps like my 14 watt Harvard or 55 Champ or Bogen amps I still dig my JT30s (ceramic and crystal) and T3 with a hot CM element.
I just wanted to tell you folks my experience with this cool mic.
As usual..............no kick-backs from the builder...............blah, blah, blah.
