Re: [Harp-L] mitch kashmir review

I've also had the pleasure of meeting Mitch and he is deserving of all the accolades heaped on him. I know that Blues Revue said a few years ago that the CD he had out at that time was one of the best harp CDs in the last ten years. He is a master of the high end.
I am a little disappointed that he is playing with WAR. The only original member in the band is the drummer because he got the copyright to the name after they broke up. The other original members have a band called the LowRiders. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the harp player that tours with them, but they are endorsed by their original harp player, Lee Oskar. He is occasionally with them.

I've seen Mitch several times here in So Cal and he is a very nice guy
who'll sit there and chat with anyone who comes up. Very focused and one of
the finest harp players around.
He pretty much stole the show last year at the 23rd? Annual Thanksgiving
Battle of The BLues Harps in Long Beach, CA.

DEAR HARMONICA COMMUNITY,

just a quick review.

i had the pleasure and honor to meet mitch kashmir of the group WAR.

I went to the their show in ft lauderdale last week.

The band sounded great. It was wonderful to hear a harmonica player in a
national group with a saxophone, creating a mini horn section.

Good points........It was an exceptionally tight show, the horn lines were
well rehearsed and smooth, They traded solos quite a bit with mitch playing
both diatonic and chromatic. He was in total command of his parts working
within the confines of his ensemble as dictated by the leader of WAR.

My only gripe is that mitch did not play as much as he might have. It was
not until I listened to him on iTunes that i also become enamored with his
lead singing and harmonica playing. He is a tight and ferocious diatonic
player!! The CD's (all three) feature mitch on excellent vocals as well and
the songs are very creative within the realm of blues. I enjoyed listening
to the cd's even if they did not feature harmonica. I purchased them.

Also, we met after the show. He was extremely welcoming and friendly,
unlike other musicians that we all have met, ( withholding names to protect
those involved). A true professional, gentleman, singer and harmonica
player.

We hope one day mitch will come to spah and meet the hundreds of new
friends that await him there.

congrats mitch!!!!!

sincerely,
randy singer
